Dr. Michael Bishai is a New York Physician and Patient’s Choice Award recipient affiliated with multiple hospitals on Long Island, including St. Catherine of Siena Hospital, Good-Samaritan-University-Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital-Bethpage

After receiving his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Rhode Island in exercise science and physical education, Dr. Michael Bishai moved West to attend the University of California San Diego and San Diego State University, respectively. There he studied, trained, and worked as a Physical Therapy assistant for a practice specializing in the rehabilitation of aging individuals. Witnessing firsthand the complexity of elder care and realizing the need for a more dynamic—compassionate, and collaborative approach to elder care treatment—Dr. Bishai decided to pursue a career in medicine.

He obtained his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed residency training in internal medicine. He then spent 16–years as a hospital physician, diagnosing and treating a wide array of medical conditions, illnesses—and injuries. With a working expertise in all areas of patient care and a specialized focus on how illness and disease affect people as they age—Dr. Michael Bishai established his private practice in 2015. Along with his team of highly trained licensed medical professionals, Dr. Bishai specializes in geriatric medical care by providing integrative support in outpatient settings, nursing facilities and hospitals.


